It was a rainy day, but no amount of rain could have dampened the spirits of each and every rider who took part at the Sky Community Day. With the annual Lesotho Sky stage race happening this week, the Community Day was about giving young and old the opportunity to get a taste of the “ride of passage” action.

Around 40 riders took part in the 10km race through the Roma village, over the surrounding hills and around the official Lesotho Sky base camp here at the Roma Trading Post Lodge. True to Lesotho style, bikes of all sorts were lined up at the starting line. It really did not matter what wheel size or suspension you were riding. On a day like that any bike would do and those who were not on a bike were either supporting their friends and family with loud cheers.

Our friends at Galito’s Flame Grilled Chicken made sure that all the riders had a good reason to make it back to the finish line in time.

At the Velosolutions pumptrack things were pumping, to say the least.

A big thank you to all our amazing sponsors and friends who helped us make this special day possible.
